Let's talk Linebackers

Edds is obviously a sure-fire starter at one of the outside spots. Who else do you guys like? I think Jacody Coleman will be a star before he's done, and will start at the MIKE spot for the next 3 years. According to the depth chart, Jeff Tarpinian is the other projected starter, although I expect Dezman Moses, Pat Angerer, and Tyler Nielsen to compete for that spot.

I really like the talent at this position. Not a lot of experience, aside from Edds, but there are some good players/athletes at LB.

You also forgot the potential of Jeremiha Hunter.

I agree. This might be the most talented position on the team. A slight correction though - Angerer plays MIKE like Coleman, so if he's competing anywhere, it will be at that position. I've read pretty good things about him out of camp.

I really liked what Coleman brought when he had playing time last year. His positioning is what may take some time, but his speed and agility seemed great

From what I've read, Angerer and Coleman will have a real battle for the start at Mike.

Good call, Lax, I did forget Hunter. Always good to have some depth. Between this group and the DL, I think Iowa's run defense is going to be very stout for the next couple years.

Really like the front 7 on D...as in 2002, the back 4 will just have to be average for this to be a really good D. If they are better than that, it may be the best defense in the Big 10.
