Their first three games:
@ Michigan
vs. OSU
vs. Penn State
I guess they will find out if they are good or not. They finally get a break in the schedule in their fourth game when they come to Kinnick. ;)

I think they have a 50/50 or better shot at all 3 of those (OSU being the possible exception), with 2 at Camp Randall and Michigan likely having a bit of a "rebuilding" year under Rodriguez. I'd like to have the chance to hand them their first (and "bubble bursting) conference loss.

I agree with you, but it is still tough to start the Big Ten Schedule on the road, at the Big House. Then follow that up with games against more-than-likely BCS-bound OSU and a PSU team which always seems to have talent.
Also, prior to that BT games, they play on the road at Fresno State, who has been a "giant killer" in past seasons and always gives teams some trouble.

Wasn't this what our schedule looked like a couple of years ago
@Michigan, vs MSU, vs OSU, @ PennSt in 2004
Cloudhawk= Big 10 gauntlet

Has Fresno ever really slain a true giant? I know they have the rep, and have beaten some mid tier BCS programs (Oregon State/KSU), but I think that the reputation is somewhat undeserved.

I remember someone I worked with did a stat last year where they and I think Utah had the most wins by a non-BCS team versus BCS teams since 98 or something like this.
After looking it up:
- Beat Cal at home in 2000.
- Won at Colorado in 2001.
- Won at Wisconsin in 2001.
- Beaten Oregon State a couple times between 2000-2004.
- Wins at Washington and at Kansas State in 2004.
- Bowl wins over Georgia Tech, Virginia and UCLA.
- Nearly beat USC at the Coliseum in 2005 or 2006.
Maybe not "giant" killers, but they have beaten some above average teams.

Wisconsin has a great group of running backs and a good offensive line. But....
No quarterback + no wide receivers + average defense = most overrated Big Ten team, or perhaps second to Illinois. This is not a top 10-15 team like all the preseason mags seem to think it is.

I think the K-State transfer (Everidge) will be fine at QB. I'd trade them at that particular position in a heartbeat.

Bumping this thread. Wisconsin is 0-2 right now going into next weekend's game with Penn State (who looks pretty damn good).
Hopefully Penn State can kill them, causing the Badgers to quit mentally on the season since we play them the following week.
