I lost my faith in Doyle as I watched Iowa get out-physicalled the last two seasons. Sad.

I don't blame Doyle, I blame the head coach. Doyle can get them into the weight room and on a mass building diet but he can't coach desire. I said this on the other board and I'll say it here. I will have a good indication of how good Iowa is going to be after the open practice. If Iowa has multiple players riding exercise bikes like the last few years I will know the tenacity may be lacking.

My biggest fear came true last Saturday. Once again there were 5-10 guys stolling the sidelines without pads. At least Ferentz cared enough to comment on the injury situation. If players figured out they can see the trainer to get a day off they will quit on the field when things don't go their way. If Iowa has players sitting out because of bumps and bruises it speaks to the culture of the team.
