That was pretty optimistic. I had to chuckle when they mentioned that Iowa's passing game was going to go from awful to explosive simply with the return of a healthy Brodell.

Any "key player to a successful season" that doesn't say "Jake Christensen/Other QB" is utterly ridiculous. Our season rises and falls with the play at that position.

They rated the quarterback situation a 7. Yes, a seven.

The rater definitely didn't sit through the pain of watching our offense actually operate last season...the repeated off the mark drive killing misfires, the inability to sustain drives generally, etc., but instead just looked at the stats, particularly the decent TD to INT ratio, and determined that "Jake really wasn't too bad." If he'd looked at our conference ratings in nearly all offensive categories, he'd see something was terribly amiss at the helm.

Is Brodell trying out for QB now?

CFN at one point was sort of a cute novelty in that they provided an alternative to ESPN/SI/etc. They were really a pioneer in blogging if you think about it.

However, they ultimately pretend to be experts when they aren't. I am hardly a critic of the Great Dane, but Jake is not the 7th-best player on this team. It's obvious (and not surprising) that they watched very little of Iowa this last year. Probably the Syracuse game (their love for Brodell and Moeaki) and little else.

Even worse was they ranked Brodell the 3rd best player on the team.

If you had watched the 2006 Alamo Bowl, Syracuse game, and nothing else since the 2006 Ohio State game like CFN likely did you'd probably reach that conclusion too.
