Yup. That's what being a Hawkeye uses to mean. I'm looking forward to it taking on the same meaning again soon, win or lose.

Yup. That's what being a Hawkeye uses to mean. I'm looking forward to it taking on the same meaning again soon, win or lose.

I still question whether he would be a member of the team, even if just a walk-on, at this point if he had any other last name.

The only thing that marginally bothers me is that if he had any other last name he'd have went through a competitive process and had to actually get chosen. My sense is that he was some sort of preferred walk-on, and I'd be surprised if there isn't another kid on campus who'd have loved to have competed for that spot and would have added more to practices.
