This Big Ten Network is a clustereff.

It's on Mediacom. I don't understand why there are no alternate games tonight.

I could be wrong on this, but I don't recall a single occasion last year where the overflow channels were used during basketball season.

This Big Ten Network is a clustereff.

By the way, only 3 of the 13 non-conference games will be on the BTN: Oakland, Bryant and Iowa State. We've got a smattering of ESPN-U games coming up.

WTF was the point of the Big 10 channel then?

Exactly. This really sucks for people outside of Iowa who can not watch the game on the Mediacom channel. The Big Ten Network website feed was just awful on Friday, bad picture and the audio was way behind.

If you're going to have the overflow channels, use them.

For the record, the Big Ten Network has chosen to broadcast the Penn State vs. New Jersey Institute of Technology game tonight instead of the Iowa game. From a ratings standpoint, I don't understand this at all. Iowa fans actually care about basketball (insert CHA attendance joke 'here'). Penn State fans are altogether unaware that basketball season has even started.

To be fair, the BTN only owns the rights to eight (or possibly six) of those games.

The games at Citadel and at Drake are owned by those schools/conferences.

The two games in the Vegas Tournament have no ties to the BTN.

The Boston College game is part of the BT/ACC Challenge which ESPN owns the rights.

The three games that are streaming does suck, but I think it has to do with the BTN not having enough production/uplink trucks with football season still going on as three trucks will be at those sites plus whatever else men's and women's basketball games they have picked this week.

There are three games that are on ESPNU/ESPN, but I heard someone on the other site mention that it was part of the BTN-ESPN agreement when the BTN started that ESPN gets x-amount of non-conference games and I guess Iowa's three games got picked up.

But once again, I am not defending the BTN, I wished they showed more of the non-conference schedule, especially these streaming games, but some of it is out of their hands. Most, if not all, of the conference schedule will be on the BTN with the occasional game on ESPN/ESPN2/CBS.

If the game can be broadcasted on Mediacom, I would think the BTN could broadcast it on one of their overflow channels.

I'm aware of the games they have the rights to. Just putting out a preemptive post warning people that there will only be 3 games on the BTN before conference play.

An I am just pointing out why only three will be broadcast since people like to blame anything about their TV/Iowa games on the BTN.

Just look at this past weekend and DirecTV's problem with the game, majority were quick to blame the BTN.

We all know all these problems are KOK's anyways.....
