Peterson, Kelly and Gatens played well. Gatens can shoot the ball.

Jordan Eglseder was having his way underneath at the beginning for like the first 10 minutes, but Tate responded and started slowing him down.

I don't know yet how good or bad Iowa is, but UNI is really bad. Iowa killed the cats tonight. At minimum, they are much, much better than a bad team.

UNI's guards are young, but that Moran is a talented player. He'll be a good one before he's done at UNI.

I give a lot of credit to Cy Tate for this win. Egelseder was having his way early but Cy stepped up and basically shut him down the rest of the way.

Did you guys notice Cole while he was out there? He was boxing out and moving people around, but when the ball came off the rim he couldn't get off the floor. Not a good sign IMO.

I love the smell of wob's in the morning. ;)

I tend to agree with RiotFan, though, that this is a nice win for the Hawks. It gives me hope that 3-0 against in state teams is not an unrealistic goal.

Lickliter seemed to be pretty pleased with the effort, especially the way the Hawks defended. If they can shoot consistantly and play defense, this team may be better than some had hoped.

ISU and Drake will be tough games. I like our chances against ISU at home.

Drake poses some match-up issues though. Very quick guards and big guys that can shoot the 3. Definitely a winnable game though.
