...but still a nice win. The team is doing better than I expected after Tucker's mishap.

I know it's cliche, but they appear well coached to me. And are improving. NIT? Quite possible.

Few teams can recover as well as Iowa has when their leading scorer goes missing and then is benched indefinitely...

If Cole could return to early last year's effeciency, then they've got a great chance of making it to the 'Dance'. They're 4 games away from last season's win total, and haven't even started conf play.

2 things:
1. I fear Tate wearing down against better competition (I had an ISU fan friend that told me that Brackins was going to beat the shit out of Tate. HA!).
2. With so many freshman playing, where are they going to be, come game 20, when they should be done with their Senior season in HS?

I fear Tate fouling out. World of hurt when that happens.

I'm impressed so far with how some of our guards are willing to hit the boards (of course with a 4 guard offense that goes without saying, but still).

And Petersen has beefed up very nicely in the upper body - you guys notice that play where he hung in the lane and muscled it up against the defender? Not exactly Andre Woolridge strong, but quite the upgrade over last season. He's obviously a hard worker.

Petersen was very shaky against ISU. some real bad decisions and poor defense. he needs to step up his game for the Hawk to do well..especially with Tucker out.
