Iowa by 5....need to play more consistent. Team has a hard time getting into rhythm in my opinion.

Minnesota's perimeter defense worries me. Tubby's guys get after it out around the arc. We're going to need to penetrate and also to keep Tate involved throughout. That's not our specialty.
Gophers in a close one. Late free throws make it Gophers by 7.

I say Iowa wins by 1 on a 3 at the buzzer by Gatens.

I like Lick, but think at the end of the day Tubby will be a more successful Big Ten coach. His hiring was a coup for Minny. Tonight, Minny by 6.

I'm not convinced Tubby will be a more successful coach. Minnesota pays its players less than Kentucky.

I think it's undeniable that Tubby will get significantly superior talent on a consistent basis (despite having a perhaps less appealing campus to which he is recruiting), and I don't think that Lick's Xs and Os advantage (which I admit exists, though Tubby is no slouch (see George Raveling; also Wayne Morgan) in that regard) will be enough to overcome it in most years.

I still don't think Iowa nor Minnesota ever become top tier like Michigan State. Although anything is possible - look at Wisconsin.
I guess it comes down to the adage of "if Coach X can do so well at School Y with mediocre talent, he should be able to to even better at School Z with better talent". Will that be true with us? I certainly hope so.

Were I a guy who best on sports, I'd go pretty large against Iowa.

Haven't lost at home yet this year, so I assume that has something to do with the line.

It has to do with me believing that Minnesota is going to win the game, so getting points is a bonus.

Cyrus the virus goes down with an early injury.
That Brommer dude might be the worst player I've ever seen put on an Iowa uniform. Him and Antonio Ramos.

Dan Bohall, Justin Wieck and Josh Crawford all disagree with you. Brommer will be half decent once he gets older and gets some more experience. He has some decent pieces, but his head is not totally there.

I hope you are right, they are really lacking decent inside players.

Random side note, I saw where Josh Crawford is now playing for Indiana State.
He was the only guy that ever made Erek Hansen look filled out.

Damn, and I just gotten the Erek Hansen era out of my mind. He actually turned out to be ok.

Hansen wasn't that bad. I believe he was the Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year in his senior season.
Don't expect to run your offense through him, but he defended the hoop well.
I met him a couple times, not the smartest guy in the world.

Let's see if Lick can figure out how to get us an open look. Tubby seems to have us figured out.
