More playing time for David Palmer is NOT the answer to any of Iowa's problems.
Anyone who disagrees with me had better be prepared to throw down.

I'd say it's a bit premature to make any assumptions about Palmer, either way.

Given the condition of the depth chart at the post and his numbers you'd better get used to seeing him.

Extended playing time for Palmer will lead to more laughs than the Seinfeld era Thursday night comedy lineup.

Hasn't he been at Iowa for 3 years? I've seen enough.

You've seen him play significant minutes more than 1 time in the past 3 years (of which one year was an NCAA forced red shirt)?

J.R. Angle should start.

I'm on board, Debit. That isn't to say he doesn't deserve more playing time on this particular team. Just that it won't make a bit of difference in terms of Ws and Ls.

The problem begins at the PG position, gentlemen.

They might begin there, but they don't end there. Our personnel problems extend to every position not called "swing player."

Is there a cure for Kelley's excessive dribbling? You would think that with the UIHC, they could have found some way of eradicating the disease when Freeman left?

Does "swing player" mean "6-4 shooting guard who can hit a three if he has 2 seconds to set up but can't create his own shot to save his life"?

Better teammates. I think Kelly dribbles because he is the only player capable of creating any sort of offense.

I am here to eat my crow like a man.
David Palmer, you are proving me wrong. I will gladly continue to eat crow if you will continue to play like David Palmer 2.0 instead of the David Palmer 1.0 which I saw in every game prior to the last two and in scrimmages. Keep it up and I might even start a David Palmer Fan Club.

I wish to retract my eating of crow.
For two games David Palmer was possessed by the spirit of Tom Chambers.
He's David Palmer again.

I have officially regurgitated the crow that I prematurely ate after Palmer's two "deal with the devil" games.

do you think brommer would have went for 8 points, 3 boards, 1 block, 0 TOs in 19 minutes today? playing palmer is definitely helping the team.

No. Brommer would've went 1 and 3 with no blocks.

Iowa closed within 46-45 on two David Palmer free throws with 8:48 to play, but easy point-blank baskets by Chester Frazier and Calvin Block built Illinois' advantage to 52-45.
"Their big guy was out of the game," Block said of the 6-foot-7 Cole, who was on the bench with four fouls during that stretch. "We went right to the basket."

More playing time for most of the Iowa roster is not an answer to the problem.

Jess Settles coming back for an 8th year of eligibility may not be enough.
