WTF happened? I missed the end of the game and turned it off when the Hawks were leading by 14 or something. Is Steve Alford back?

Iowa decided it didn't want to make any baskets in the last five minutes and Cornley did everything for PSU.

This one hurt. No doubt about it. Should have been a road victory.

But in the end, it was a loss on the road. There will be some good teams that lose at Penn State. I'm just not sure we are one of them though. :)

The PSU whining and technical foul really worked for them. The refs gave them every call the last 8 minutes of the game. Although in fairness, we did get a lot of calls up until then.

The inconsistency of the refs this year is disgusting. The NCAA needs to get rid of every long-time ref and hire all new, young guys who call what they see regardless of the coaches bitching or the crowd booing.

Two points:

1. Cornley is a man out there. Iowa really could have used Tate in this game, as he would have been a much better matchup against Cornely than Palmer was.

2. If I were an opposing team I would press Iowa as much as possible. The guards simply do not make good decisions under pressure.
