Giant Steps is awesome. When I was younger, I made it a point to try and get into Coltrane, so I went out and bought Ascension. I found it impenetrable, confusing and exhausting. I pretty much just gave up on it after that. Years later, I went back and explored the earlier stuff and realized I would have been much better off having chosen something like Giant Steps the first time and moving on to records like Ascension and Expression after I'd gotten my feet wet.

yeah, i remember either you or joeyrange? talking about them a month or so ago...

Want has been a constant in my CD player in my car since last August. It's an instant dance party and perfect music to listen to before going out. So cheesy yet awesome.
