If Skip starts in CF, then Lugo would start at 2B and give them another righty bat in the lineup against Wolfe.

It would still be choosing Schumaker over Ankiel and Rasmus.

If that makes sense why not do it during the regular season?

TLR is hinting that he might start Schumaker in CF for game 1. Forget the battle for the CF spot between Ankiel and Rasmus that we watched all summer.

That pissed me right off when I heard the same thing.

I like Tony and his tinkering, but I disagree on this one. What's the advantage of this move?

Yes. Lugo hits well against lefties. I'm not sure why Tony wouldn't keep Schumaker on the bench, though, instead of Ankiel or Rasmus. Maybe he's afraid of another postseason meltdown from Ankiel...

If Tony really wanted to tinker around, he could move Holliday to CF and put DeRosa in LF. That would at least get all the left-handers out of the lineup.

I'm pretty sure I saw a story a few days ago where Tony said that he wouldn't be doing this, and that there would be a lefty in the lineup.

Sooo, when can we start the official threads for this year?

Brendan Ryan had wrist surgery just the other day and is out for spring training.

Sounds like Mo is kind of pissed. I guess he said something along the lines of... "In a perfect world Brendan would have brought this to our attention sooner."

No kidding. I think he has the ability to be one of the best SS's in the game... but he is quirky and I think has some ADD going on.

Shumaker was saying yesterday he's the best SS that's ever played in front of him (speaking from an outfielder) and he knows the entire pitching staff wants Brendan on the field. So, it looks like he pissed off Mo, TLR, and the entire pitching staff.
