haha, the old skool hip hop channel on xm plays the Fat Boys. I'm not sure I'm missing much of the pop stuff from the 90's. My girlfriend and I drove to Chicago Christmas Eve during a big snow storm. It took almost 9 hours. Along the way to ease the tension and have a little fun we listened to the 90's channel on 9 (XM). Not only did I know the musician and name of the every song after a few notes, I knew almost all of the words. I'm talking Lisa Loeb, Spin Doctors, and Crash Test Dummies here.

Sixeyes has some decent tunes in the latest "Saturday Mix"
alexi murdoch orange sky
iron & wine resurrection fern
http://sixeyes.blogspot.com/2009/04/sixeyes-mix-april-18th.html
I got the Alexi Murdoch disc a short time ago and am digging it. A little slower (like Iron & Wine) but good for relaxing.

I was surprised to figure out that I don't have any Thin Lizzie.
lots of good stuff so far.
my submissions:
The Fabulous Fryers - 1981 Rose Bowl EP (http://www.mostlynothing.com/1981RoseBowl.shtml)
The Beach Boys - Rehearsals 1967 (http://www.aquariumdrunkard.com/2008/10/06/the-beach-boys-rehearsals-1967/)
Wilco - More Like the Moon EP (http://www.wilcoworld.net/ep/helper.html) (I think it's still available via this link - you might have to do some searching if it's not)
David Brent - "Free Love", "If You Don't Know Me By Now", etc. (http://homepage.mac.com/elliottday/theoffice/sounds1.html)
about 900 versions of "Bring It On Home To Me" (http://www.fuelfriendsblog.com/2007/04/27/someone-bring-it-on-home-already-sam-cooke-gets-covered/) (sam's live version is incredible - there's also an extended version of the track that has some pre-song banter on it that's worth checking out)

i really enjoy Cornell's version, even though his voice is a little rough these days. I really enjoy the entire Sweden unplugged set.

Captain Obvious is an outstanding blog. Turned me on to quite a few of the bands I've been playing heavily for the past couple of years.
I just wish they updated it a little more often. That's the way it goes though, I guess.

For LAX:
There are many different definitions of what exactly pop punk is and with this series of 30 or so posts I’ll do my best to broadly define (in MP3’s) what pop punk is to me. Enjoy.

Winepress – Runnin’ Back To You
Static Radio NJ – Green Hoody
Bayside – Dear Your Holiness
The Lillingtons – Lost My Marbles
Saturday Supercade – Anything Is Fine
