The Famous Phil-Dweeb Fued

I caught a lot of the HROT threads that comprised what may have been the most famous "fued" in OT board history. It got a bit testy at times. (Right, Jethro?)

But, unlike some of you info sponges, I don't remember all that went down all that well. I assume bickering over the markets and economy got it going. I seem to recall Dweeb being a buy-and-hold guy who thought things were fine and each guy claiming the other had been wrong in their previous predictions and/or analyses. Didn't someone else get into it with Dweeb just about as intensely as Phil in a lot of the threads? And Dweeb eventually took off for parts unknown, presumably now twittering somewhere with The Lelly.

Phil said recession started in Dec. 07 & and was right or close to it. Dweeb insisted we weren't in a recession. Numbers come out showing Phil was right, Dweeb was wrong & Dweeb bolted- never to be seen again.

Dweeb reminds me of a certain poster here who predicted major things then when they were shown to be without clothes, they left that board yet resurfaced on a different one with similar posters who had done a mass exodus at a later point in time.

It's really kind of a chicken shit move. if your going to talk shit with such utter conviction, you should have the intestinal fortitude to take the lumps that come with being wrong.

No, Dweeb was always pretty careful to not actually endorse anything, but only (un)endorsed whatever anyone who dared challenge his position as board economic and market guru.

I'm not convinced he wasn't just a government message board plant there to try to talk the markets and economy up. Kind of a Guerrilla soldier attempting to restore economic stability. He disappeared no long after the election. Most blogs where comments were allowed had someone like him mixed in with all the negative commenters.
