So I'm driving down Locust st. in Davenport today, I come to a red light in the vicinity of West High School. A car pulls up next to me with 3 white kids (I'd guess around 16-17 years old) they all looked like little pussies with their hats to the side, leaning in their car and playing some rap music. These guys couldn't have been more 150lbs each.
I am about 6'3 265, and played defensive tackle in college.
DB 1: Yo that's a nice ride man.
me: Thanks.
DB 1: Lemme have it.
me: (laughing) yeah no problem.
DB 2: How bout I get out and take it motha fucka.
me: Ok tough guy
DB 1: You better wipe that smile off yo face nigga, befo you get yo ass whooped. (this is the first time i've ever been called "nigga" by a white guy)
me: I doubt it.
At this point, I was starting to get pissed and I noticed that I had a coffee cup from the morning that was about 3/4's of the way full. I grabbed it and threw it through his passenger side window. it went straight by the passenger (DB1) and nailed DB 2 (the driver, who leaned over to run his mouth, square in the face). I went on my way and that was it.
Normally I would have just ignored them but for some reason today I couldn't. I don't know why but I was about 5 seconds away beating the dog shit out of all 3 of them. I'm glad I didn't.
God I love Davenport!

I don't get how parents let their kids run around looking like that. If my boy came home with his hat to the side trying to act all gangster, we would have a problem.

You were completely justified in your actions. Had you gotten out of your vehicle and proceeded to beat the crap out of all three of them... you still would have been justified.

Stories from the home town. It sounds like West went from suburban cowboy with the cowboy boots etc when I was in school to suburban gangsta. I am glad I went to Central.

I occassionally have to remind my son that you can't look gangsta when your mom drives you to your little league game in a minivan...

A good friend of mine is Police officer in Davenport. I called him after it happened and he thought it was pretty funny. He told me I took the correct action. :D

YOu know...a number of years ago...I would have 100% agreed with you. But I had a very sobering experience where a guy half my size put a gun in my face over accidently bumping into him on a sidewalk. That forever changed how I reacted in situations like that.
And as unfortunate as it is...Davenport is no longer a town where guns aren't something you have to worry about
I would not worry about anything other than them recognizing your car somewhere and maybe vandalizing it. The stupid little poofs were probably too surprised to get a license plate.
