I think our defense will be the toughest they face the entire year, and it's certainly leagues beyond what they've faced to this point. I think Arizona's speed on D was a much better prep for the Hawks to what they'll face this Saturday.

Also, Iowa is in their heads, no doubt about it. 4 of the last 5, plus before 2007's visit to Happy Valley, the Haws had won there the previous 2 visits.

And, I'm a shameless homer.

PSU has had this one circled on the calendar for the last 10 months. You better believe they want to pound the shit out of the Hawks. The fan base will be Looney Tunes with Gameday and the night game going on.

That being said...rough, tough, turnovers, edge of your seat battle. Hawks can't run, Stanzi can't pass but Iowa's D is opportunistic and keeps them in the game. Iowa scores late, PSU gets a chance and blows it.

PSU will look lost on offense, and overrated on defense.

my guess is that there will be a variety of rumors between now and saturday night, but we won't really know until sat. night

There was no chance an unranked team like Iowa could win against the #3 team in the nation last year. Oh, and there was no chance that a #14 team like Iowa could win in Michigan, they being ranked #8, in 2002. After all, it had been over a decade since their last win in the Big House, and 7 years since it's last win over Michigan even at Kinnick.

Remember that Penn State has only hung up 31, 28, and 31 on lowly Akron, Syracuse, and Temple. I'm not saying you are wrong, but I would be surprised if the Hawks defense gives up more than 21.

Hope I'm wrong. If I'm wrong, it could be a very, very good season. Michigan is definitely "beatable" and Michigan State isn't the boogeyman that some of us thought they may be. Ohio State would be the next toughest game.
