Highlights (or lowlights):
As mentioned already, no Bulaga, DJK, Moeaki
Sandeman jumps McNutt for the #1 spot
Prater listed at starter. He started last week even though Lowe was the starter on the depth chart
Chaney alone at PR

McNutt had the flu or flu like symptoms last week right?

I grabbed those from the weekly notes at Hawkeyesports.com, but now they're gone and week 3 is back up. I'll check later to make sure nothing has changed.
Edit - they're up again. Here's the link: http://www.hawkeyesports.com/auto_pdf/p_hotos/s_chools/iowa/sports/m-footbl/auto_pdf/FBNotes92109

McNutt>Stross or Sandeman
yes. Think Keenan Davis should get more reps as well.

This significantly diminishes the chances of an Iowa win.

I don't think this necessarily means they're all not playing. They've got all week to get cleared - they're just not listed here because they were scratches on Saturday. Players are almost never on the depth chart in this situation.

I'm not gonna lie: I worry about our ability to win, or to even be in a position to win, this game with a receiving corps in which Sandeman, Stross and Chaney are getting 90+% of the snaps. It would require deadly accurate and consistent QB play for 4 quarters, and while I think Stanzi has to some extent been unfairly maligned to this point in the season, I'm not confident he can deliver it, particularly in those environs.

Well that makes me feel better. Stanzi needs all the help he can get on the receiving end of things for us to do well.

Don't get your hopes up - I'm not saying anyone is playing or anything. Just that not being on the depth chart Monday doesn't guarantee they're not suiting up.

If Bulaga really is a skin infection, then I can't imagine him missing another week.

i don't think guys are ever listed on the initial 2 deeps the week after missing a game

This is correct. It's based on last Saturday, and not the upcoming Saturday.

Sandeman started the other day too, and I'm pretty sure he wasn't listed #1 a week ago. Lax has said it a million times, KF's depth charts mean diddly squat.

I agree that it's nothing to get worked up over, but do you guys see no value in seeing these at all? If not, I can stop posting them.

I like you posting them. Some people just get worked up about them. Maybe you need a disclaimer of some sort :)

Oh, it's nice to see them and I encourage you to continue posting them. It's more what's not on them that I don't get worked up about; i.e., I fully expect to see 2 of the 3 guys who missed last week on the field this week, even though they're not on the depth chart.

I can't believe the quality that is lacking in the depth charts being posted. It's about the same quality as the weekly prediction scoring.

Stross doesnt seem to have improved at Iowa.
He will always have the distinction of scoring the world's first touchdown in 2009.

Word.

Stross doesnt seem to have improved at Iowa.
It would help if he could have ever put together 3 straight healthy games.

I think he's one of the most physically gifted receivers we've ever recruited, and I agree completely with you. He must just run terrible routes. He's got great hands, speed, and strength. But he doesn't get open. Routes is the only thing I can think of...which is a biggie. I think he's somewhat of a headcase, maybe uncoachable in a sense.
