Basketball season is here. NBA tips off with a TNT doubleheader tonight (Celtics/Cavs, Lakers/Clippers). Bulls on national tv on Thursday and Friday this week against the Spurs and Celtics, respectively.
Any predictions on the season? Do you care?
Oh Boy!!!!..... not really.
I watch the play-offs. But, much like the Iowa High school play-offs, the regular season doesn't mean too much.
It's painfully obvious the best teams usually cruise into the play-offs, then start playing.

Garnett looks healthy in the pre-season. We'll see if he holds up. Barring injuries, I think the Celts are the favorites.
Go Rockets! I'll be watching Matt Bullard call the Hou/Por game on TV tonight. I try to go to 15 or so games a year. Always fun.

I don't think he'll play a full season, but they don't need him too and I think he is smart enough to have himself in decent shape for the playoffs.
I think Shaq will somehow piss LeBron off and it will turn into a giant soap opera...I was also disappointed to see Blake Griffin go down already.

Good point - he's too crazy and he'll probably run himself into the ground.

Sad but true. I don't know that Doc is enough an authority figure to force him to sit out. Maybe Ainge is.

Do you disagree? The vastly outstrip MLB. NFL could be argued, but the natural athletic ability of athletes in the NBA is unrivaled.

I think there's a strength argument to be made for the NFL.
I'm still personally going with the NBA.

I don't think it's close. The athleticism combined with the size that NBA players have is astonishing. It's almost like they aren't humans.

I was being a smartass. I question the intelligence of anyone who argues that NFL players are more athletic than NBA players.

I'll say there's nearly a 100% chance of the hoops team winning more total games.

I could argue that Larry Bird is a great athlete, but no athletic. I think most NBA players are just the opposite, very athletic, but not much of an athlete. I think of more body control and hand/eye coordination with the term "athlete". Just watching NBA players throw punches makes me laugh. I would like to see one of those old "battle of the network stars" type things, amongst pro athletes from different sports.

Used to be a big fan before they took my Sonics away. Now, fuck 'em.
I must say that I enjoyed watching the Lakers' training staff receive rings to the tune of "Fix You".
So Adam Morrison apparently ranks dead last in the Lakers' pecking order of returning players...

i was definitely getting back into the NBA over the past 3-4 years but i am losing interest already. lebron is a total douche but the face of the league, plus the whole donaghy thing really makes me doubt the legitimacy of the entire regular season.

Bovert and I agree that the Archie injury and the Tucker suspension cost this team 8 or 9 wins, minimum.
:)
But seriously, take this basketball season out back and put it down.
I am not even a moderate basketball fan and this season has been painful for me.
