View Full Version : From a BigTen perspective, any value in NOT getting in 2 teams in BCS?

I know the conference would lose some money, but by knocking each team down the bowl ladder, wouldn't that improve the chance of a better showing in the bowls? Would this help with conference prestige?

I think this may be the case, but even if the Big Ten went undefeated in bowl games, pundits would still say the Big Ten was down.

The loss of bowl revenue wouldn't be worth the weaker slate of opponents, IMO.

If Minnesota goes to a bowl, it frankly won't matter who they play. :)

Michigan St and Minnesota aren't good, and it's a joke for them to be in any bowl game. The rest of the teams should do well.

Rose Bowl is the only bowl that matters for the Big 10. If OSU can finally get a win it will go a long way.

I don't know, they will cheapen it because of USC being down and Stanford being so hot as of late and not making it because of earlier losses

The only way that we're going to get past this annual "Big Ten is down" nonsense is for the Big Ten to start winning BCS games, so you might as well hope for two. If Ohio State were to beat Oregon and Iowa beat Boise State/Georgia Tech whatever that would shut some up.

I agree. But OSU showing up on New Year's is crazy talk. :)
