2009 Defense vs. ......

There is a decent thread on the other site about this. Where does the 2009 defense rank with some of you compared to past defenses.

Some past ones mentioned on the other site:

1981 (I was six days old when this season started so I can't comment)
1991 (Some say this one was sneaky/underrated good)
2004 (This defense definitely has the "names")

I think the 2004 defense was really good, but the thing I like about the this year's defense is how much they were able to "put out fires" considering what the offense/special teams left them with this year. They had their back against the wall A LOT this year and came out the winner numerous times.

The 2004 offense wasn't that great, was it? To me 2004 is probably the best in my memory. This season's defense was great, don't get me wrong. But 2004 was incredible.

Can you imagine either this season's D or the 2004 D coupled with the 2002 offense? Wow.

I think this might be the fastest. I still think 2004 is better though. 1981, I was a year old and don't remember too much.
