A team with a bigger chip on their shoulder than we have.
A recipe for an ass kicking.

No shit. Iowa would dominate their front lines.

Just like we did against Northwestern?
I hope we don't play them. 31-24 BSU
Everyone knows that both lines are OVER-RATED. Clearly. Where did we rank in the Big10 in sacks or sacks given up? Where did we rank in rush D or rush O? Both lines were underachievers. Hell, every major program that plays BSU says the same fucking thing. Then they lose.

Or tackle like Iowa? Or cover like Iowa?
I ain't skerred. It won't be Georgia v Colt Brennan, but we'll control both lines of scrimmage and win.
Our fundamentals are the reason we managed to win games. It sure as hell wasn't because we dominate any facet of the game. Maybe our pass coverage.

Sacks is a terrible measure of how good our d-line is or is not. I somewhat agree that our o-line is overrated, but the rb situation made them look worse than they were.
I don't think Boise has played a d nearly as sound as ours. They scored 19 points vs the only d with a pulse they faced. The same d that gave up 40 plus to Stanford and Arizona. Boise has 2 wins vs good non WAC teams in it's history.

I don't think you can use the game we lost our starting QB as a measuring stick.
Geesh people, it's a freaking BCS game. No matter who Iowa watches up with it will be a difficult game.

Nevada's defense was TERRIBLE and their QB couldn't throw it in the ocean, yet there they were within 8 pts of BSU in the second half.
I was not that impressed with BSU. They do have some speed, but the majority of their big plays were due to poor tackling or botched blitzes by Nevada's D.
Boise would be the easiest BCS bowl match-up for Iowa, among all of the possibilities. But, it won't be very easy.

Iowa has nothing to gain by beating Boise. It's like playing the clones..big news when we lose but no biggie when we win.

I'm not sure about that. Boise State has a lot of support around the country. They are the true Cinderella story to most college football fans. If Iowa were to play Cincy or TCU, I think it would be a no-win situation. But, people will be watching Boise.

I agree. That win Boise had against Oklahoma changed the perception a bit.

Boise, Cincy and some of these other Johnny come latelys have one thing in common-in 1 game situations, they can play with the big boys. Over a full season, they would not be upper tier teams in the big conferences.
