1. Florida, 2. Alabama, 3. Texas, 4. Cincinnati, 5. TCU, 6. Boise Sate, 7. Oregon, 8. Ohio State, 9. Iowa, 10. Penn State, 11. Georgia Tech, 12. Virginia Tech, 13. Pittsburgh, 14. LSU, 15. BYU.
Will do another writeup this evening after the official standings come out, but right now it's looking really good for Iowa. This weekend went just about as well as it possibly could have for our bowl hopes.

Nice. I suppose we're wanting a Texas win in the B12 championship and an Oregon St win over Oregon?

Won't matter. If anything, we'd rather have Oregon win just to be safe.

At this point, we're rooting for stability. The only potential remaining upset that could help us is New Mexico over Boise State.
Edit - but now that Okie State is out, we don't even really need this. Earlier part of our hopes were that Boise State and TCU weren't both chosen. Now they can be and Iowa can still get in. Now, (leaving aside the Iowa vs. PSU debate) our main worry has shifted to Va Tech jumping up and beating us out, or Cincy losing to Pitt and still getting an at large.

So what if Nebby wins...does the Orange bowl get first pick??....and under that scenario I would assume they would take Texas and not Penn State......Nebby goes to the Fiesta Bowl so would they then take us to make an Iowa/Nebby game?

Even if Nebraska pulled off a miracle against Texas, how in the world would they jump from unranked into the BCS top 12 to be eligible? Can't see it happening.

They would be the automatic bid for the Big12 as conference champions.

I see another year ending with Iowa number 8 in the final polls.

I would say that #6 or even #5 is more likely. They will be #8 next week.

The pain is softened when one realizes not rooting for the 'Horns would mean rooting for the Cornholers.

I agree with Mr. Hawk. Part of me, at least, will be uncontrollably rooting for Nebraksa.

I'll be 100% rooting for nebraska. I'd love to see them play the Hawks. That would be awesome.

Except that would have the potential to knock Iowa out of a BCS bowl game. The safest bet for Iowa fans is rooting for Texas.

That would be a remote possibility. It's going to come down to Iowa vs. PSU, regardless.

But if the general consensus is that Iowa is more likely to be chosen over PSU by the Fiesta rather than the Orange Bowl, Iowa still needs to root for Texas to be in the NCG.

Who picks first between Orange and Fiesta?
If Texas wins next weekend, then the Fiesta. If Texas loses, I think the Orange.

I believe this is correct, and what I was alluding to in my post.
The Fiesta gets to pick first if Texas wins because their tie in (Big 12 champ) would be unavailable.
