If we're giving it to the best player in college football (which we're not, and never really have), it would have to go to Tebow. As much as I hate to say it. He really is a great player.

Tebow gets my vote. Best college football player of my lifetime.

i don't know how you can put a RB on a team with 4 losses over a QB who hasn't lost in a very long time.

Bradford had amazing #'s last year but I still would have voted for Shonn Greene

Well, he's white for starters. And Stanford beat the hated Trojans.

I really get a laugh out of the pundits who talk about Toby Gerhart. Every single one of them compares him to (gasp) the only other white running back they could think of, John Riggins.

You weren't alive when Barry Sanders was in college?

Shonn Greene > Toby Gerhart. I love Gerhart. He plays his ass off, but can you honestly say he is better than Tebow? Would you take Gerhart over Tebow in a college football game? It's nice to see a white RB dominating, plus he is a dual-sport athlete, but he is not better than Tebow.

I think it's either McCoy or Tebow, and this coming weekend will be highly relevant to the outcome. I'm rooting for Bama to make Tebow look bad.

I loved Barry, but I'd much rather build a college football team around Tebow.

Dan LaFevour out-Tebowed Tebow this year.

2788 passing yards on 71% completion, 25 TDs to 5 INTs. With that, he had 650 rushing yards (4.1 avg) for 14 TDs.

I understand that the Heisman has to go to a RB or QB for a top 5 team, but in my football fantasy world where it goes to the best player in the country he's got to be up there.

The MAC is down this year.

20 years from now, few will remember any player mentioned in this thread apart from Tim Tebow.

I disagree completely because Tebow's NFL career will be well below average.

I think he'll suck in the NFL, FWIW.

In limited viewing, I think that Bama's RB is a brilliant runner, and his combination of speed, strength, and vision will make him a very good NFL player. I'm no Mel Kiper, though when I sleep on my hair wrong it get a little Kiper-ish, but I think he's a sure bet. Still, never ever spend a #1-5 draft pick on a running back. Ever.

Because it's self supporting.

The reason sports media should give him this award is that he's the guy that we'll remember 20 years from now? One of the primary reasons that we'll remember him 20 years from now is that sports media has been praising the shit out of him for the last 4 years.

and the fact that people will remember him for his CAREER and not necessarily THIS YEAR

If Tony Pike had been healthy all year I'd vote for him.
