Natives in Oklahoma upset easily despite relative success. Move is lateral or above in pay and now have Regis Philbin pressuring you as opposed to Toby Keith and his generic maroon hat. Thought?

He'll probably get run out of Oklahoma in the next few years, so I think he'd at least consider the ND job.
Flip a coin, IMHO. He doesn't lose either way. The HUGE advantage of ND is that you get BCS with a 9 win season every year.
The real question for Stoops will be recruiting. He has a fertile recruiting ground now. ND should bring him good recruits also, but it's not geographically centric like OK is.
Frankly, I think Ferentz to ND would be smarter. 1) it's a promotion, 2) it's his only shot to win a national championship, 3) he has midwest ties, 4) ND's popularity would offset his weakness in recruiting.

Smart for ND no doubt. Toss up if it's smart for Ferentz. The expectations compared to the realities might not be worth it.

Agreed. If he can't win he'd be shown the door. Lower expectations and results are OK at Iowa. I'm just saying it makes more sense than Bob Stoops does, probably from the standpoint of both parties.
