In the late 1990s, since the Mavs sucked super balls, they didn't have any banners except for Brad Davis' number retired. Then AC Green broke the consecutive games played record while in a Mavs uniform so they actually made a banner for that and put it up for a couple seasons until Dallas started winning and becoming a legit team and realized how lame that looked.

One of my personal favorites, that was finally taken down this year is in Staples Center. They have all the historic Laker titles and numbers retired up against this one wall. Then they have Gretzky's number and a couple Kings things. Then a couple LA Sparks (WNBA) title banners. Then finally, a LA Defenders (Arena Football) Division title banner. Yes, a division title for an arena football team close to Magic and Kareem's numbers.
