Leaving your shopping cart in the parking spot next to yours. It takes 20 seconds to put the cart away you lazy bastard.

Generally do the same, but also grab one to take in with me, even if I'm just there to grab a couple things and don't need a cart. Got a nice scratch in the door of our 3 week old Touareg because someone decided that not only did they not need to put the cart in the rack, but they didn't want to take the chance of it hitting their car as they left, so they pushed it away from their spot. That was fun, stepping out of the store and watching the cart shoot across about 10 spots and smack into the car.

People in grocery parking lots are generally idiots. The fight to park as close to the front door is pretty entertaining.

Agree with Mongo. Mongo know.
Doey apparently likes to employ some racist ploys against caucasians, here. If his act isapplied to any other race, he'd probably be banned.

I hate this. Little things like this bug me because they're so easy to fix. Like when someone throws their trash on the ground (by accident or not) and leaves it there when a trash can is visible 30 ft away.
IIRC, it was Mikeyjoe who got a behind the scenes tour of Disney World for an internship. He was told that the engineers figured out that the average person will hold on to something for 58 steps (or something like that) before pitching it on the ground. That's why they have garbage cans every 40 steps or so.
What I took from that is the average person is lazy.

That's funny. I started a thread on this very topic a year or so ago, the premise being that since it was okay to use the term white trash, then maybe we should come up with an acceptable insulting name for blacks. It wasn't meant to be serious, and I was trying to make the point (clumsily) that the term white trash is offensive, but I've been labelled a racist ever since.

The recent incident that inspired me to start this thread took place in West Des Moines. The only black resident of West Des Moines was shot by the police last year so unless a new black guy moved in..............most likely the offender was white.

I really dislike the term "white trash".
They are called "hoosiers" down here. Not sure why exactly, but I think it was due to an influx of folks from Indiana back in the old days to work in some factory. I'll have to look it up.
Anyway, crossing the street with your whole family in tow (including stroller and straggling toddlers) and not using the cross walk. This is when the cross walk is within 100 yards of you in either direction. Oh and it's a 4 lane major city street.
I cuss and almost run into these folks on a daily basis. Pisses me right off as I don't really want to run over your whole damn family but you are making it hard for me to dodge you. I know before my time is gone I'll take somebody out (not on purpose mind you).
In St. Louis, Missouri (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/St._Louis,_Missouri), the word is used in a derogatory fashion in similar context to "hick (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hick)" or "white trash (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/White_trash)".[2] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hoosier#cite_note-The_Word_Hoosier-1)
Thomas E. Murray carefully analyzed the use of "hoosier" in St. Louis, Missouri, where it is the favorite epithet of abuse. "When asked what a Hoosier is," Murray writes, "St. Louisans readily list a number of defining characteristics, among which are 'lazy,' 'slow-moving,' 'derelict,' and 'irresponsible.'" He continues, "Few epithets in St. Louis carry the pejorative connotations or the potential for eliciting negative responses that hoosier does." He conducted tests and interviews across lines of age and race and tabulated the results. He found the term ecumenically applied. He also noted the word was often used with a modifier, almost redundantly, as in "some damn Hoosier."
In a separate section Murray speaks of the history of the word and cites Baker and Carmony (1975) and speculates on why Hoosier (in Indiana a "neutral or, more often, positive" term) should remain "alive and well in St. Louis, occupying as it does the honored position of being the city's number one term of derogation." A radio broadcast took up where Murray left off. During the program, "Fresh Air," Jeffrey Lunberg, a language commentator, answered questions about regional nicknames. He cited Elaine Viets, a Post-Dispatch columnist (also quoted by Paul Dickson), as saying that in St. Louis a "Hoosier is a low-life redneck, somebody you can recognize because they have a car on concrete blocks in their front yard and are likely to have just shot their wife who may also be their sister."[2] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hoosier#cite_note-The_Word_Hoosier-1)
"Old timers" from southwest St. Louis County have their own history for use of the term. In the mid-1950s, Fenton, Missouri was at the then-rural southwest rim of the county. It was during this time that Chrysler Corporation built a large automobile assembly plant in the city of Fenton and closed a plant it had been operating in Indiana. Many former employees of the closed Indiana plant moved to Fenton for employment; so many, in fact, that entire subdivisions of new homes (with streets named after Chrysler models such as "Fury" and "Belvidere") sprang up south of the plant, near what was then US Route 66.
It became something of a local joke to refer to the new arrivals from Indiana as "hoosiers", and before long, anyone from the rural edges of St. Louis County was considered such.

Love it. Have the TDI version, and it is fantastic. Had it just shy of a year, and thus far the only issue that wasn't cosmetic (wife tore off driver's side mirror and the above mentioned scratch) has been an actuator motor in the passenger side mirror dying and needing to be replaced. Nice to drive, no one who rides it is believes that it is a diesel.

I cant speak for TAW but most the peeps that use the WT term would be the most outraged if anyone used a slur to describe any non white person. Its the hypocrisy that makes me giggle.

1) The N word is a pejorative term applied indiscriminately to African Americans for nothing more than the color of their skin. "White trash" is applied to only a segment of the Caucasian population who exhibit the appropriate behavioral characteristics.
2) About 100 years of slavery and 200+ years of racism.

In town around 25, driving back to Iowa around 28-30. Wife does most of the in-town driving in it, so if you aren't a hammer it off the line and hammer the brakes kind of driver, you might improve on that some. :-)
