View Full Version : Opponents determined for Drake, UNI in Valley-MWC Challenge Series
Drake heads to Fort Collins to take on the Rams (coached by the guy who succeeded Greg McDermott at North Dakota State, there's your daily trivia), Northern Iowa visits Texas Christian.

Looks like they are packing the matchups over a few days this year instead of spreading them out over the non-conference slate.

I hate UNI's draw. Not from a competitive standpoint, but rather from a "doesn't do anything to help" standpoint.

It looks like there is a fixed home/away rotation (like in the BracktBusters), so Drake and UNI (along with UE, Wichita, and ISU blue) basically had the following to draw from:
- SD State
- Texas Christian
- Air Force
- Wyoming
- Colorado State

That's what happened. I'm not positive that UNI really wanted to mess with some of the better teams next year anyway.

If they keep this series around for the long-term, it could get boring very quickly if they keep doing that.
The Alfords @ Southern is going to be a bloodbath...

They are going to have to mix up the home/away lists or find some other way to make it work. I'd much rather they adopt the Big Ten/ACC Challenge system.
