Saw him live for the first time this past Friday... pretty amazing singer/songwriter. Been compared to Dylan, Springsteen, Cohen, etc. Some songs I can see a correlation, but other songs it's not as easy. Although, if you aren't fans of any of the above, you can probably stop here :)
The show was awesome... only about 100 people in the store (Fingerprints Record Store), and he played for over an hour. Below is one of his songs, from his new album, that he performed that night. It's a pretty slow song, but I like it.

Also had a chance to meet him too...

The glasses are a good look for you, LBC, very cute.
I saw Ritter last summer at Vaudeville Mews in DsM and he was terrific. If you don't have his live record from Dublin, get it. Great energy in the house that night.

I don't have the Dublin album ... but will have to pick it up.
Super nice guy. He was also very "huggy"... hugs when we met him, hugs when we left. The first one caught me off guard... haha. The song I posted above has "Iowa" in the lyrics, so I made a quip about that... which then led to an Iowa/Idaho(where he's from) discussion.

Listened to the YT clip... sounds good. I'll have to look into picking up some of his stuff. I see Amazonmp3 has two albums: Divide & Conquer and Grace & Speed. Favorite?
I'd go see Josh Ritter if I were you. He is coming out to LA again in June, and am debating going to that show too. Although it's pretty tough to beat an hour plus long concert in the intimate setting of a record store.
Had a chance to talk to him a bit... discussed the Idaho/Iowa confusion (he's from Idaho). Super nice guy and it's nice to see him doing well.
Currently Ms. lbc :)

Good work! Very cute.
I would probably go with Divide & Conquer -- but I'm a little biased because I have been listening to it like crazy lately. You really can't go wrong as Grace and Speed also have a few of my favorite tracks (e.g., Roman Candle).
I just realized that his next show is the same night as the Ritter show. We'll probably have to catch Ritter his next time through as Ms. puravida as a huge crush on Vandaveer.

Dude that sucks. Happened to me last year when I had The National tickets and found out Band of Horses was playing the same night.
Although I'm seeing The National again next month, and hopefully BoH later this year when they come to the Greek.
