Just last year, music rags ran think pieces about the probable death of the big summer music festival because the economy crashing would mean people wouldn't have the money for the expensive tickets anymore. But in reality, the economy being terrible has meant little to the fests. Case in point: Last weekend's Coachella had its highest attendance ever, as 225,000 ticket buyers were in attendance. That is obviously a lot of people, and more than Coachella's previous high of 186,000. Given the high attendance, the fest also made a bunch of money, too: Its estimated profits are expected to be more than $20 million. That should be good news for the organizers of Lollapalooza and Bonnaroo, don't you think?
