Just saw someone mowing with an electric lawn mower

It needed an extension cord. What an epic pain in the ass. Am I missing some sort of situation where it would be good to have electricity inches away from sharp metal blades?

We had an electric mower when I was a kid. I hated it.

They're okay for postage stamp yards in the city. Mowed a friend's yard with one while they were on vacation and while the cord was slightly annoying, it wasn't all that bad. Their lot is something like 45'x75' though, and the corded mower would suck for anything larger than that. I'd still probably have sprung for a cordless version if it were me.

I'll never use gas again (unless I move to a house with an obnoxiously large yard, well, then, most will probably get planted to prairie anyways)
