UPDATE: DTV Subscribers: New HD Channels Have Arrived

For those of you with DirecTV, new HD channels should be coming your way within the next few weeks.

DirecTV's new satellite (D12) has reached it's final parking position in the sky and, pending final testing, should be operational within the next 10-14 days.

Because of repairs which need to be made, in the air, to D10, initially only about 10 additional channels will appear. Then, starting sometime in June, approximately 20 more will come on-line. It is expected that by the end of the year or mid-2011 an additional 20-30 channels may be offered, bringing the total addition from this new satellite to about 50.

Agreed. Beautiful scenery just doesn't look as good on standard def when you know what you're missing in HD.
