So we bought a fire bowl and it comes with a cover. Printed on the cover it has "instructions" that say "Do not use with cover on."

My son says, "That's stupid, Dad. Why would they put that on there?"

It's an excellent question that I'd like the lawyers here to address. I'm curious as to why companies have to put stupid things like that on their products. Any reasonable responses I can pass along to my son?

IANAL, but maybe to differentiate it from the higher quality, non Wal-Mart models that you CAN use with the lid on?

A better question for these lawyers is why the fuck we need these prissy ass "firebowls" to have a fucking fire! They're assholes.

Not a fire bowl like that - one like this:

In other words, turning it on with a vinyl cover on it would be stupid.

Because there are stupid people in the world, and the legal system has chosen to protect them over mocking them for their stupidity.

The wisdom of this choice is best left to others.
