Meanwhile here in Denver we await another fricking snow storm. I'm ok with snow in April, but snow after mother's day is getting to be a bit much.

Awesome.

I've never actually seen a tornado, but I had my first real moments of weather-related fear yesterday when hail began falling on my drive home as I listened to the National Weather Service's robot of doom telling me to immediately seek shelter over the radio.

there are few things as creepy to me as the voice of Tom the NOAA voice when he announces a tornado warning.

I saw nothing larger than small pellets, although golf ball-size hail was pretty common yesterday.

i was reading the preliminary damage reports and there isnt much evidence to support that there was a long-track tornado in OK yesterday.

didn't 5 people die?

L. Wade Childress

at least, but that doesnt mean that the tornado was on the ground the entire time as some people have speculated. a single supercell caused most of the damage as it stayed intact across the state, but with the advanced warnings and spotters i think there would be reports of a huge wedge making its way across half of a state.
