... I have tickets to the show in St. Charles in June. Did anyone hear about them touring? I found out thanks to a Facebook post.

Too far to drive imo. I drove to CR for them last time. That's about as far as I'll go.

The Ames show was 10X better than the C.R. one.

I beg to differ. I didn't go to the Ames show, and my seats were terrible in CR (nose bleed), but these two smoking hot chickidees were sharing "stuff" with me and my friend all night if you know what I'm saying.
I got drunker than 10 Indians waiting for that show to start. I was afraid we wouldn't get a good parking spot, so we showed up early, and had about 2 hours to burn off at the bars.

I went to the CR show and from what I can remember it was awesome.
One of my favorites and hope they get around here soon.

It was one of the better times I've had at a concert. I'm betting the Ames show was stellar as well. If Bones says it's good, it's good.

My friend in Lawrence, KS e-mailed me this morning and said, "Tool is in KC on June 25th!" A minute later I got another e-mail saying that it was already sold out. I'm not sure how neither of us heard about this show. I'll probably end up paying way too much money to see them, but it will be worth it.

Saw them play in Ames '02 and Council Bluffs '07... both stellar shows, but the Ames would rank higher imo

They are in St Charles the next night and it wasn't sold out as of last night.

I'll be in town that night, but not for the concert. I'll wave in the general direction of the concert. :)

Not to one-up you, but I saw them @ Lollapalooza 1993, State Fairgrounds, DSM. Second stage, and I was right by the sound system.
Ouch. They were good though.

Fixed.
I'll be in St Charles Saturday night for Tool. I've heard nothing but rave reviews about the show. Last tour everyone was bitching about it being the same ol Tool show. Now they are saying its one of the best shows ever.

I wondered during the show if they were doing the same set every night. The visuals were more in sync than usual, and I didn't think that they had a presentation for every song in their repertoire. Makes sense now that you said that.

All I have to say is HOE.LEE.SHIT. That was incredible. Just got back from the show at Red Rocks and that was aabssolutely one of coolest things I have ever seen in my life. Danny Carey is easily one of the best drummers in the world.
I took my finacee because a ccouple guys baccked out. She know absolutely nothing about Tool and she said it was best visual experience she has ever hadd at a cconcert andd also noted how insanely good Carey is on the drums.
Thats all I have for now but WOW.

Funnily enough, you got a different set-list. You got Flood and not Intolerance, Intension/Right in Two and not Eon Blue Apolcalyse/The Patient.

Yeah I didnt recall hearing Thee Patient however their lights and video were still spot on even with the new set list.

The same thing happened to me the first time I saw Tool. A friend said he wanted a ticket but ended up backing out at the last second. My girlfriend was nice enough to join me, and she was definitely glad she did. She was vaguely familiar with their music, but said it was one of the best concert experiences she had ever been to.
Regarding the setlist, I'm glad they are back to closing with Aenema. Just a solid closer. Having seen all the songs live except Third Eye (which would be unbelievable I'm sure), I would definitely want to see Flood over Intolerance. On the same token, I would rather see them play Eon Blue/The Patient as opposed to Intenstion/Right in Two. Though, when it comes down to it everything they play is awesome, so it doesn't really matter.
Also, Jambi is unbelievable live. The talk box is great.

Having seen both Flood and Intolerance I can honestly say .... they are both friggen awesome. You can't really go wrong with either.
I have also seen Ri2 in concert and I prefer EBA/The Patient, but once again it doesn't really matter.
Third Eye totally sets the tone for the entire show. It really is unbelievable how awesome it is.
For the record, in case its not coming through in my posts, I really like Tool.
