i am slower and hit fewer home runs but i use the whole field more consistently and am a better defender overall as i get older. i have a few years before i hit 40 though.

I know I sound like softball guy here, but I honestly think we need a couple practices before the season. We try to practice, and a few guys show up, but most don't. We always start the season really slow. We were 0-5 to start this season iirc.

We're too old to just show up at that first game and expect to play well.

Not that it matters much, but we had a game that we were leading by 4 runs get rained out with 2 innings to play, and didn't get made up. Also, another rain out against Gerri's, who we beat pretty soundly earlier, didn't get made up.
