Either they are fucking with everyone to take the pressure off of having a young team or the addition of Brian Ferentz and Greg Davis has seriously affected Kirk to the point of changing.

We can hope. However, it's still a pretty safe bet that the first play from scrimmage next season is a stretch play to the short side of the field.

The more I see things, the more I think that Kirk Ferentz has actually decided to change and let the opinions of people he trusts who have been watching from the outside be heard.

I think in hindsight, the shakeup should have happened right after the Orange Bowl. History seems to be showing that Norm, KOK and the system had run it's course.

That would be fun, wouldn't it?

Kirk should just start saying crazy shit about us running 5 wides and no huddle during his PCs. Dudes like Kakert, Howe, and Miller would believe every word and Hawkeyenation would have mad thick dick.

Vandenburg would be the subject of a lot of my tweets.

Say stuff like "V'berg is dead!" then come back on a couple hours later and say something like "my bad guys, we were playing COD, he's not really dead."

@CoachBFerentz Good, sharp practice yesterday. No-Huddle is starting to look good. In the meeting room today and back in Kinnick tomorrow morning.

Ferentz lets his coaches coach. They operate freely within his parameters, but are free to do what they think is best for the team.

I agree about the timing, especially with Norm, it was more natural for him to go out on that high note instead of having the hate he got the last two years as well as the medical issues obviously.

Hopefully they'll let bferentz start doing some press conferences. Maybe they'll at least be slightly more exciting than boring. His tweets have been cracking me up.

This statement is pretty much worthless, and describes every single head coach/assistant relationship on every team in all of football.

As long as they clean their rooms, maintain good grades, respect their mother, limit TV viewing, dress appropriately, don't party, do volunteer work, excel at sports or music, and get along with each other, my kids are free to do what they think is best for them.

Already being addressed in recruiting? What were Kirk and gang doing the past few seasons exactly? This seems like another one of those completely useless statements. I can't believe that KF was only pursuing hard working, gritty, smart, good pattern running possession receivers the past few years.

I'll add in my two cents worth of "insider information." Not much new, but what the heck. You get what you pay for, and I don't get a cut of the HaLo subscription fees.

The offense has indeed been working a lot on a no huddle. No pulling of the leg.

Good things on Brian Ferentz - he's doing much more, more of a detail guy with technique than his predecessor.

DLine is injured, accounting for them looking as rough as they did on Saturday.

JVB didn't play well, and Rudock is improving. I doubt this means he'll get a shot, but everyone is pretty high on Rudock.

Overall the team is as rough as they looked on Saturday. Could be a rough season.

You could tell in the post spring scrimmage with KF that he wanted to just say 'We're shitty' but didn't.

Not sure I can remember the last time I was so lacking in the optimistic fan's perspective that "if we get a few breaks, and a couple promising guys who haven't played much step up, we could be really good." Just not feeling much of that this year - and the disaster at DL and the lackluster skill position players on offense are primarily to blame.

Hopefully it's to your liking. Otherwise, you'll have even more reason to piss and moan about the upcoming season.
