Default Getting rid of a lawn mower - ideas?

I have a dead lawnmower that I'd like to get rid of.

If this was LA, I'd put it on the curb with a sign marked "basura" (whatever the fuck that means), and someone would have it in their truck/minivan before I made it back inside my house.

Since I live in white suburbia, these things are frowned upon. How does one get rid of an inoperable machine like this here?

Give it away for parts on Craigslist or Freecycle.

Our town has a city wide trash pick up week. They'll pick up any junk you're trying to get rid of. This of course means everyone drives around town with big trailers collecting other peoples junk.

This year we put out a dead lawn mower, dead vacuum and an old but working printer. The lawn mower was snagged in negative seconds (someone backed down the road to grab it as Mr s was putting it out.), the vacuum was gone in about 5 minutes, and no one wanted the printer...

This....

You don't have to meet anyone. Just tell them the location it will be at, and drop it off. Or, tell them to come to your house and put it out on the sidewalk. No face to face contact.
