11, 12 and 0 were left out to avoid blatant examples of retardation.

Looks like 7 wins is the most optimistic poster we have. The Greg Davis era!

I voted 4, but it could easily be less than that. They may very well end the season on another 6 game losing streak.

I voted five but can only find three. I'm holding out hope the qb play will be much much better and we can find a way to reach 5 win.

Will be better at every single position on the field except maybe one corner spot, and center, maybe.

Start 4-0
2 out of Minny, MSU, osu, NW, and 2 out of Wisky, Purdue, Michigan and Nebraska. Eight.

How can you not say Iowa will be worse at QB? Vandenburg was a 5th year QB who showed promise in the previous 2 years and was dogshit this year. A QB with no experience and Greg Davis calling plays leaves little hope there. I'd love to be wrong.

I voted 6, but looking at that schedule could be deja vu after a possible win over Michigan State and then finishing the season 0fer.

Because I watched Vandenberg shit his pants, make poor presnap reads, and not get off his covered primary target for three years. At his best he was an average college quarterback, at his worst he was a terrible college quarterback. We saw his worst far more than his best. Nice kid, class Hawk, hard worker=5th year starter when he didn't deserve to be. This isn't new.

It's the way Iowa football is. Lose some close games this year, win some they shouldn't the next. 6 wins, and a bowl game in Houston.

I see 2 wins. Missouri State and possibly Purdue, depending upon who Purdue hires. If GDGD is still here it won't matter much who is the QB or the receivers. It's still throwing horizontally and short of the sticks. It would be more productive if Iowa ran the wishbone and took the Offensive Coordinator out of the equation.

Every game on that schedule other than the Missouri State game makes me nervous. Of course I think we'll win more than just that one game, but that is a fairly tough schedule featuring a lot of pretty good defenses.

We will be breaking in a new QB, and while I hope and believe he won't be as bad as Vandenberg, with this offensive scheme I have no doubt that we will probably make the young QB look worse than he actually is.

5 wins looks about right, and I think I'm being a bit optimistic with that prediction. I really want to say 3-9.

This is kind of the way I see it. If I had to get specific, I see these wins:

Northern Illinois
Missouri State
Western Michigan
@ Minnesota
@ Purdue

Then they probably win one of the home games against MSU or Northwestern.

I'm a little surprised so many people are writing off a home game against MSU as a loss. I have us winning 6: N. Ill, Mo St, W. Mich, MSU, Wisc, Purdue

I'm a little surprised anyone is comfortable predicting a single win, let alone a half dozen wins, without the benefit of having seen any of the returning quarterbacks take a single snap. I'm assuming that all 3 guys are terrible until evidence to the contrary is presented.

You can't put Purdue in the should have won category. Iowa was lucky as hell to have a chance at the end of that game. I don't think you should put Northern Illinois in the should have lost category either. Other than one play, Iowa shut Northern Illinois down and outgained them in that game by quite a few yards.

I'd put nearly 0% confidence on winning opening day.
I'm already envisioning that QB running around James Morris and over Tanner Miller all day.
He might put up Manziel numbers and start his Heisman campaign that day.

And we, not they, will be the team with the first game starter at QB this time. I have a hard time envisioning a win, as I think it will require us scoring at least in the mid-20s this time to get one.

We should have beat Indiana. Michigan State was more of a win that Vandy did everything he could to fuck it up

If Iowa comes out of the gate and loses to Northern Illinois (I think they lose every starter on their d-line) they will be in big trouble and Ferentz will be coaching for his job the rest of the year. It's a big game for Ferentz.

Regardless of next year I think the earliest Kirk is gone (fired) is after 2014, however he is going to hate life in 2013 if he goes 2-2 in non conference, 2-6 I am a giant douche, and his team has not shown improvement.

I'm not sure Kirk can handle the heat and thus could leave for the NFL after next year.

> 4 wins next year and Kirk is gone one way or another. I tend to side with doey in that he will make the call himself and move on to a position coach in the NFL.

A couple of those questions in the presser really seemed to catch him off guard and hit home as to the level of disappointment around the program. I'm not sure if there is another coach that is as far out of touch with the fans and media as KF.

Northern Illinois 71 yard run on 3rd and long = skill
Iowa 30 yard run on 3rd and long = luck

I will be shocked if Iowa is better than 3-3 going into their first bye. I will be even more shocked if they are better than 4-6 going into the second bye and it will be a miracle if they get to 5 wins.

My 5 win projection is way too high. Iowa better hope they get rid of Nebraska to end the season and the divisions are re-aligned in 2014.

This is going to get really ugly for Iowa. Hopefully something clicks and Ferentz makes a lot of us look like idiots.
