When will Iowa Football be back in the top 25? It certainly won't happen anytime soon, but how many years? Will Kirk still be the coach?

After our performance last night and how god awful the big10 is, I honestly can't even venture a guess.

I've found that the best insurance is to expect them to get completely destroyed, and then be pleased if we exceed that. I've perfected this skill over the last decade of Hawkeye Basketball.

Also, after sleeping on it, I predict our next appearance in the top 25 won't be until January of 2015.

Iowa will probably only be favored in one game the remainder of the year - Purdue.

Indiana will probably be favored by 1 or a toss-up.

I think the most disheartening thing in all of this is that Iowa's best coach is undeniably Reese Morgan and it isn't even fucking close. And he's like 90 and he's probably one more trucking on the sideline away from retiring.

The only road games next year are at Michigan State, Northwestern, Indiana and Michigan. I expect that he will get at least a little bit better next year and can win 2 of those 4.

I keep going back to the recruits of 2002-04 as killers of the on-field momentum of those years. You can give them some blame for the '08 and '09 classes, if indeed the on-field struggles contributed. You can also look at the many washouts from the vaunted Class of '05.

From the DL- Burch, McDuffie, Zilisch, Larry Thomas, Eshareturi, Kittrell, Willcox, Bentler, Big E Langston, McCracken, Cox, Thibeaux

LB- Bonecrusher

DB- Zanders, Richie Williams, Price, Dalton, Brevi, Merrick (to a lesser degree)

WR- Fanucchi, Vickers, Davis (lesser degree), Townsend, Grigsby

OL- Huntrods, Aumaitre, Chris Thomas, Felder
