Default ***Rumor alert***

Disclaimer: I make absolutely no assertion as to the truthfulness of this rumor. But I have heard from someone on campus that there is some talk that today is Lickliter's last day.

I have no idea whether that means he's coaching today, or whether they would extend that should he happen to win today. Again - I know zero details. I hesitated to post this, because I have no idea whether or not this has legs. But then again, the chief exports of HaLo are hearsay and speculation. Feel free to flip me shit forever if this ends up not being true. I'm somewhat skeptical myself, but I guess we'll see.

Do you think that this + NC's poor season would get Harrison Barnes to reconsider?

He would only have to sit out one season.

;-)

Like Cully Payne, if he was realeased from his LOI he would not have to sit out at all.

FWIW - here is how much my interest in Iowa BB has waned.

Three years ago I followed intently the various rumors regarding Majerus, etc. while Iowa was doing their post-Alford coaching search.

Now, I just don't give a shit.

I'm sure that Roy Williams, who suffered through a brutal season and is counting on Barnes and others to improve his lot, would have no problem releasing him from that LOI.

if you dont care about this coaching hire, then you are not an iowa fan or you have the most interesting life in the world, like the Dos Equis guy.

It's not so much that I don't give a shit, I just don't believe it's going to happen. I think Lick will be around for at least two more seasons.

Just wanted to say that I fully endorse this rumor. And we all know how good my information is.

But, I heard something along this line last night from a contact as well. Not that today was it, but that the end is imminent.

The rumors from various boards suggest Lick will step down, possibly citing health issues.

theres no way he is just stepping down and walking away from $2.4mm. he would be dumb to even take half of that.

Maybe they arranged a buyout or he has another job lined up?

If Lick stepped down, he most definitely would have a buyout in place. Nowhere near the $2.4 million, but I could see $1.2-1.5 range.

Isiah Thomas spotted in Iowa City. First at Sears looking at freezers. Then at Carver looking for secluded parking spots. And finally at the Cambus station looking for a suitable vehicle to throw his daughter under.

The other board is buzzing too.

So Miller's 45 minute podcast rant is all it took to get this thing going? Wow

I'm not getting my hopes up. Plus even if he does leave, Barta still needs to make a great hire to put the program back on track.
