Ok, take this FWIW. I have a decent source connected to the Michigan athletic department. He stated to me in an in e-mail this evening that Ferentz had been offered the job and this evening he accepted. The final details and announcement will come in 24-48 hours. MH check your PM and I'll explain this one to you. I'm not convinced on this, but this source has credibility. I hope he's not playing me. I'll take the heat if this is wrong.

I'm sure that I'll get blasted if this is wrong. I by no means feel this is 100% solid. But I do give it some credibility and feel there are some legs to this.

I saw during the LSU-Arkansas game that he said something at the weekly press conference last week. One of those "I like my current job....we (LSU) still have a goal we are trying to achieve" type answers.

A very dear friend of mine is Les' sister in law. Her sister is Kathy, his wife. I was even invited to the bowl game last year but had to decline. I don't know anything but when i talked to her yesterday, the job was not offered yet.

I honestly don't think anyone would leak any kind of information at this point with recruiting starting Dec 1st.
