Default Capt. Stubborn Ferentz!

Rob Howe ‏@HawkeyeInsider
Ferentz said #Hawkeyes playing to win Friday. Not concerned with getting young players action against Nebraska.

I'm okay with that. I just wish he didn't consider the two mutually exclusive.

He also said every position will be open for next year.

KF: To me every position on our football team will be open ( in 2013).

He needs to realize that those concepts are not necessarily diametrically opposed to each other.

we also pulled berkley edwards offer, which makes zero sense to me. iowa was already his leader and tedford just got fired.

I just saw that about Edwards. Doesn't make much sense unless they think it will end up being an absolute logjam with guys finally getting healthy and they need the Scholarship for someone else.

If healthy, it really will be a overloaded backfield.

Weisman - JR
Bullock - JR
Canzeri - SO
Garmon - SO
Hill - FR
Malloy - FR

Garmon can gfh, as can Malloy. They will never see time in an Iowa backfield.

Move Weisman back to FB.......Garmon to WR. That leaves you with Bullock, two guys coming of knee injuries and Malloy.

I don't think Garmon will be that bad. He will put on more weight and can actually catch out of the backfield, I thought he looked decent when he came in against Michigan. Just needs to put on more weight to break tackles.

I assumed quoting doug's post showed we were talking about next year and beyond.

Garmon will not beat out Weisman, Canzeri, Bullock or even Hill for that matter.

Sometimes, reading is hard.

My point is that shit happens and that's the exact reason why he's seen time. Saying "never" is silly when Iowa RBs are being discussed.

Because college football players transfer during the season all the time.

No chance that backfield stays that way, somebody will transfer or rape someone.

From ESPN Insider today:

Quote:
The Hawkeyes have lost five consecutive games and are a loss against Nebraska from a 4-8 regular season. Granted, injuries and a depletion of talent has contributed in 2012, but how much can Kirk Ferentz endure before eventually it's too much? Chilly Iowa City is a tough draw for recruits, but Hayden Fry and, at one point, Ferentz were able to make it work. The fact that Ferentz has been making $3.5 million has been held against him for a few years now. Last year's Insight Bowl appearance -- and loss -- was one thing. A 4-8 year signals a yellow light, and another subpar season in 2013 could be the red light.

Everyone is reporting Edward's offer has been pulled except Howe. He is going the exact opposite and saying that it is still there. LOL.

i offered him an olive branch a few weeks by asking him a legit question and he ignored me

ive moved on to harassing brommelkamp, who claims to be able to tell exactly what big donors are communicating via facial expression as Barta walks past them.

Loaded? Based on?

Weisman/Bullock are the only two are decent, and they're always hurt. Weisman's never going to make it through a full season because he loves contact/he's small. He's a FB at a RB position.

I was blocked for one sarcastic comment (no profanity or anything personal) after he completely screwed up a stat. It was the only time I ever tweeted at him.

Your comment on Weisman doesn't make any sense. He is taller and the same exact weight as Shonn Greene is right now in the NFL. Weisman is built like a brick shithouse too.

I also didn't say loaded, I said overloaded, meaning you have enough guys who can play back there that you will have an issue if they are all healthy.

It'll be interesting to see who starts at RB next year. I would guess that we'll see a combination of Bullock and Wiseman, but I personally would like to see what a Hill/Canzeri combo can do.

Loaded? Based on?

Weisman/Bullock are the only two are decent, and they're always hurt. Weisman's never going to make it through a full season because he loves contact/he's small. He's a FB at a RB position.

Game is a dumbfuck boyz...no doubt about it.

No, I'm just a couple years ahead of you like I was with Ferentz. You'll come around sooner or later.

Weisman will be your starting running back next year. All others are competing for No 2.

Hill will be a very good big ten back if he heals properly.

You can't cure pussy.
Yeah, he's not a RB.

In a couple of years 94 will be saying that Weisman is too small? Doubtful.

If healthy, it really will be a overloaded backfield.

Weisman - JR
Bullock - JR
Canzeri - SO
Garmon - SO
Hill - FR
Malloy - FR
I don't think that list would scare any defense in the least.
A fullback, two guys coming off ACL's, another guy that has had at least 2 concussions and probably won't play again, a safety playing RB & a walk on.

I don't know who or how many RBs Iowa will sign but if that number is zero, Kirk is dumber than even Stink thinks.
