“no matter what happens....”

I’m just gonna say it. Dude is implying he thinks they’re going to the Final Four.

I don’t care what anyone says. 🤫😂

Not liking the noise happening this morning with college basketball. Things seem to be trending in a bad way with high level coaches and articles being written about moving the season back 2 months or playing conference only games.

Still not having a schedule 10 days out from the start of the year is another bad sign.

They will have to delay the season. We have all these ridiculous stipulations after the covidtards hijacked football. No way will they be able to get through a season starting late November.

For football, the NCAA just told the conferences to figure it out themselves. For basketball, have they even done anything? NCAA seems pretty fucking pathetic to me. No leadership whatsoever.

Ricky Pitino is also peddling the idea of delaying the season. However, he might just be seeking the kind of attention you don't usually get at fucking Iona.

Of course any coach at a team with nothing to play for is not going to care about playing while getting paid.

It’s difficult for the NCAA to make legislation for all of the conferences on this. The big ten and MEAC aren’t even in the same stratosphere. It’s a lot like people clamoring for the federal government to step in on major issues when it is clear that they should be handled by individual state governments. Easy to assign blame to the big, bad NCAA but what exactly are they to do here? The key for them is ensuring that the Tournament happens. That should really be it.

Which is the exact reason both football and basketball need to break away from the NCAA and form their own Power 5 for football and high major for basketball with uniform rules and a commissioner.

What would it matter? They are still teams representing state run higher ed institutions for the most part, and the decision making reflects that.

As we saw, if there is an ounce of pressure they will fold to the will of the people. It would matter to have solid leadership to set a pathway forward for everyone.

Basketball is much easier to pull off than football yet they’re making it just as difficult. Teams can play back to back days so making up conference games really shouldn’t be that big of a problem.

They’ve had 8 months since March Madness was cancelled to come up with a plan. There still is no plan. Pushing it back just leaves a smaller window for makeup games. Start the season and play the games that can be played. If there are cancellations just accept them and move on.
