We're back at the Tom Davis dilemma. We could certainly do worse than Fran, and I don't want Gary Barta having the opportunity to do just that.

There is more potential with Fran than there was with Dr Tom IMO, but unfortunately he's a stubborn old fuck just like Kirk.

This team is just not that great. Some interesting skill sets offensively but wildly inconsistent. Defensively Rebraca fucking kills you with no rim protection and not enough size on the defensive glass. Outside of Kris, Perkins is about the only one physically capable of guarding but he has about 5 missed assignments every game.

I understand the hate for Fran by some but I still maintain this is a good coaching job getting this roster to the tournament. You can definitely fault him for having a bunch of guys with weaknesses that are hard to overcome that make them inconsistent.

Next year's roster is scary but I have thought that a few times in Fran's tenure and he somehow still gets a bid. Freeman, The Fart Boys and Dix are at least intriguing but they might not have a stud to play off of unless Perkins takes a big step. If it goes poorly next year that will probably be the perfect time to part ways.

Ohio State knocked the ball loose about 100 times, got several rebounds and loose balls that Iowa should have easily had. Sure they suck dick at defense, but they got completely out-hustled and that’s absolute bullshit.

Sums it up. I think Sherm is near the end of the road but I’m not optimistic in meaningful change on that end with a replacement. I guess the only hope would be his buddy Collins raving about the difference adding Lowery made but I doubt it.

Best chance is that we can get a rim protector and be more athletic on the wing and at least get back around 75th or so like the last couple years.

Last I remember, Kentucky was an extreme fringe bubble team and WVU was barely any better on Bracket Matrix and with the guys like Lunardi, Decourcy, etc.
