I would enjoy it if they are good.

I will be disappointed if they are not.

My 3 questions that will determine how the season goes:

1) Does bohannon play? Assuming no.
2) Is Toussaint good?
3) Who's drawing fouls with Cook gone?

Nunge and Toussaint are the big questions. I still think Nunge is going to be a better defensive rebounder and shot blocker than Cook. He should also provide better spacing for Garza to dominate inside.

I think we will be better on defense this year. Not worried about offense. Rotation and minutes will still be a shit show.

Connor gets the line a ton as well.

I suspect that Jordan plays in a handful of nonconference games.

Cook drew 6.0 fouls per 40 minutes last year. (the 72nd highest rate in the country)

Garza and Connor both had a rate of 4.7. But Garza was up at 5.9 the year before.

Wieskamp was just at 3.6 (slightly lower rate than bohannon or Kriener)

I think Garza/Wieskamp (if he gets inside more) are the closest...but most likely still not at near the rate of Cook. I'd be surprised if Patrick is strong enough to get in the lane and draw fouls at a high rate this year. If Pemsl gets regular playing time, he will draw a lot of fouls, along with Connor.

I think all that is fair. Wieskamp is going to be featured much much more with the ball in his hand and he lived at the line not only in High School, but in high level AAU games. Garza should be a lot more effective at drawing fouls now that he is fully healthy. Pemsl for sure, totally forgot about him.

Patrick is the real wildcard. I think he is legit good and he has put on a ton of weight (relatively) in the past few months. He is now around the size Aaron White was when he got here.

I certainly fucking hope so.

The schedule is brutal, but they have a lot of pieces. Really have no idea what to expect out of them.

Patrick isn’t big but he is perfectly awkward enough to draw a lot of fouls, just like White. He’s a great ballhandler for his size.

True, same as how Connor gets fouled so often. For context White drew between 5.2-6.5 fouls /40 for each of his 4 years. I still would be surprised if Patrick got to those rates as a freshman, but wouldn't be surprised if he did by the time he was an upperclassman.

If bohannon isn't ready, this supposedly will be the starting lineup....

Toussaint / Connor
Evelyn / CJ Frederick
Wieskamp / Patrick
Nunge / Pemsl / Till
Garza / Kreiner

That looks like they have a lot of questions, and maybe a lot of answers.

Should possibly be a huge upgrade defensively with the guards. Cook was no great defender and hoping that putting Nunge at the 4 improves that and Garza continues to improve. Wieskamp was already really good.

Mostly hope that Toussaint turns out to be a good penetrating and defensive guard. Iowa hasn't had that in a very long time.

From workouts leading up to now that is what I was told is the supposed starting lineup if bohannon isn't ready to go.

Interesting. I’ve heard Joe T is legit but you never quite know what to believe. I like the flexibility of Connor as a sub too.

Pemsl and Kreiner are pretty nice backups to have on the front line.

I had heard CJ was really impressing last year so I'm excited to see what he can do too.

We should totally break down each player's estimated minutes per game for this season!

The yellow stripe is only on one side too. Could have been much better.

The Kriener wax figure model seems like a little much for media day

I like the Tigerhawk on the shorts, but I do not like the stripe on the side with it on the bottom as well. The Tigerhawk side with the stripe on the bottom actually looks okay.

They can wear fucking potato sacks as long as they win a lot of games.
