Jack is an 8th grader, same as Luke Wieskamp. It won't surprise me to see both end up at Iowa as they are good.

Are there any additional Wieskamp siblings coming down the pipeline?

That's embarrassing. The third option at Valpo walks in and completely lays waste to our collective varsity.

I dunno. It sorta speaks to team athleticism. He probably wouldn’t show up at many Big 10 schools and totally dominate a line drill.

the most important athletic element in basketball is the ability to put the ball in the basket.

what they do in a line drill doesn't bother me too much.

Iowa was 100th last year in team field-goal percentage...

It’s similarly symbolic to the shirtless pic or the funny “workout” promo video, imo. We are a weak and slow, but skilled, team.

Offense wasn’t the problem with last years team, and being strong/fast matters on defense.

I love our boyz, but they are weak and slow and will continue to be physically dominated at times in frustrating fashion. Teams that are strong and fast but unskilled would be similarly frustrating.

They were 15th in offensive efficiency.
That and being first in run differential get you one game in the playoffs or ncaas
1. They played two games in the NCAAs. Nearly pulled off a huge upset and improbable comeback in round 2. It was pretty exciting.

2. The Dodgers and Astros lead their respective leagues in run differential. They have each won 95 games, and there is still more than two weeks left in the season.

When ask what he looks for in a player, John Wooden said:

"There are many individual traits, size and shooting among them, that can help a team but having said that I like to have the guy that's quicker than the other guy. "

Let's say that there are five components that make a great basketball player. At Iowa, you're typically going to get a guy that has three of those. Occasionally you'll get a guy with four.

So yeah, the hawks can recruit a guy who's lightning quick, but he's also going to be a midget, a complete spaz, have no court awareness, can't shoot, can't pass, or some other huge gap in his game. It's just the way it is at Iowa.

I agree with Shap, but still think our S&C program is almost certainly dogshit.
