Not gonna look it up, but iirc Iowa is kickin' ass here. Ahead of Texas in rankings for the time frame. I've always said that Mack (Brown) recruited 5-stars and they left as 3.5 stars: Kirk recruited 2.5/3 stars and they left as 4 stars.

Man, if only Kirk could've gone to Texas. Recruiting, development, fan popularity: Hook 'em, Kirk!

Austin would've loved you.

Nah, he would have been the ultimate coach for Michigan. Would have gone down as a Top 5 coach all time if he went there after the 2005 season.

May be looking at a grad transfer DT. 2nd team all Mac. 6-4 320

As noted he is from just outside the QC and grew up an Iowa fan

NIU just had several players announce they will be grad transferring, including 6’4”, 320 pound DT Jack Heflin. He was 2nd team all-conference last year despite missing a few games, has had 16.5 TFL and 9 sacks the last two years, and apparently grew up an Iowa fan. Sign me the fuck up.

Iowa had scheduled their big recruiting weekend for June 19. NCAA just extended the dead period through June 30.

That sucks.

Everyone had a big recruiting weekend at some point in June.

It’s good to have most of our class committed already . They can visit in the Fall.

the areas it hurts us is where we have to go out of region to recruit (CB) and where we don’t already have a QB committed .

hopefully Parks the RB from FL commits And then all we really need is a Dl (hopwfully Pittman who is from IL and has visite) and then TE if Fidone goeselsewhere.

I never quite understand the difficulty some of these elite prospects have with making decisions on where to go to college

if you’re fortunate enough to be in that small percentage of the population with legitimate NFL aspirations, why in the holy heck would you choose to attend a a school that doesn’t specialize in the development of your chosen craft and area of expertise?

this is like saying you want to be some elite level attorney and choosing to attend Creighton instead of Michigan.

it might not matter if you’re an average prospect, but if a kid has serious dreams of making it to the NFL, it just surprises me that more don’t make their decisions based on who best prepares them coming out of college

Every single program recruiting these top level guys spends a ton of money and time trying to convince these 17 year old kids that it's them.

Remember in 2013 when their talent level had reached a 2 TD advantage over us?

The HaLo Twitter brigade should send this to him semi-annually.
Huh that's funny. Hey Guys was adamant going into the 2018 CyHawk game that it was the first time in all of his years covering Iowa State that the Clones were more talented top to bottom than Iowa..... Fat, drunk, and stupid is no way to go through live son.

The 2018 Iowa team had seven players who were drafted as underclassmen. I’ll let @Debit One run the math on Iowa State’s last seven draftees.

Probably not great for Iowa. He's gotten some better offers since initially announcing his announcement date. Iowa may have gotten three other receivers in the same time span, I don't recall the dates.

Iowa is sitting well at the position but I think will still take him regardless

Nice Arland Bruce article

but then WAT:

But when Bruce wanted to get serious about honing in on his quarterback skills, Mahomes hooked him up with his personal throwing coaches, Jeff and Jake Christensen — Jake is a former quarterback at Iowa.
