Kakert says Iowa won by double-digits and Freeman didn't play due to a minor ankle thing- not expected to be a problem.

Starters were Perkins, Dix, Pat, Sandfort, Krikke.

Rienk mast of Nebrantska got punched seemingly at random by an ndsu linebacker while riding his scooter. Not sure why the link doesn't work.

Preseason thoughts on each player:

Pmac: looks a lot less goofy with his grown up haircut. Liked his demeanor in the exhibition. He kind of low key took the game over (yes against Quincy) down the stretch to really extend the lead. Looked fairly effortless and efficient. He seemed like less of a spaz and i suspect he is heavily pilled out. Lets hope they get his meds right this year and he can produce consistently throughout. Probably a third team type big ten player if he doesnt spaz out again.

Perkins: looks like same perkins. Shooting may he regressing as he gets stronger and bulkier. I think he kind of topped out last year. Needs to bring the effort on D to really help the team but history and the exhibition game indicate he wont. Maybe our best all around player.

Sandfart the elder: shot poorly in exhibition. Not a good sign. Hes pretty skilled but ultimately not athletic enough to play d on athletic wings of his size and a mediocre rebounder for his size. Hed be a good role player but fran seems to be starting him at the 4 (since pmac cant play the 4). Solid player but not in a position to best use his skills.

If he has another prolonged streak like that it probably kills ncaa chances. The margin is thin this year.

Continued:

Krikke: Slower less athletic Rebecca but lef handed with great touch around the basket. Not a 5 but being asked to play it. This is going to be painful if hes asked to guard athletic big and/or anchor the paint on defense. Cant jump over a phone book. Will put up points thiugh and was being used as a focal point on offense, very similar to how rebecca was used last year. Really needs to play the 4 where he wont be so physically over matched.

Dasonte Bowen: hes quick and showed a good ability to rebound out of the point guard position. I dont see him as a point guard. He doesnt dribble or pass well. Had many terrible passes. I see bowen as a an athletic shooting guard that cant shoot well. Obviously had no confidence in 3 point shot vs quincy. He didnt show anything defensively either. If he cant shoot or lockdown on D he is going to need to sit. Im hopeful there is more to see here but this is what we have seen so far.

Dicks: dicks was a bright spot v quincy. Shot well and was generally very active. Dicks is solid on D e. Unclear why bowen is regarded as a point but not dicks other than that everyone wants that to be true. Not sure what facet bowen is better than dix rifht now. If dicks sticks he will be a great one.
