Who would have thought Llewellyn would be the best former CIML player in college football right now?

Heard tonight that Kaleb Johnson might look at coming back if his draft grade isn't 3rd round or better.

Would take $1m+, but not off the table.

I don't think he would or even should but he'd likely be worth more in college next year than the NFL.

I think we can all agree regardless of what he decides, he won't be at Iowa next year.

He should absolutely go to the NFL. Can't see his stock getting any higher. Coaches and teammates love him and he's been amazing

I agree, just saying what I heard as a Halo INSIDER!!!

I think players should leave when they should naturally leave. I hate the COVID year exception, bullshit injury 7th years, etc... Let nature take its course.

These 6+ years are fucking stupid and I hope soon that shit is gone forever. 5 years is enough. If you haven't made a splash by then, go fuck off and go pro in something other than sports.

RB especially you don’t stay in college any longer than necessary - even with a 3rd or 4th round grade that is where all but one or two backs per year go now
Right, but I guess the thought is that he can make more in college for a year guaranteed playing less games and just go the following year and be in the same position.

Let's say in some scenario he didn't want to come back to Iowa but was a college free agent after this season, how much would a top program pay for him? Ohio State has 10 players making a minimum $1m this year. That number is going to go up.

What's his number for a 1 year deal to a college team coming off an elite 1,700+ yard 21 TD year? $2m? $3m? $4m? The money for a 4th round running back is about that much over 4 years with only a $800k signing bonus.

I forgot to mention, much more limited practice and workout requirements. Only a max of 13-16 games in college vs. 20+ in the NFL and at least 5-6 of those college games are low volume and against cupcakes.

He's going to the NFL and doesn't seem to want to play in college anywhere other than Iowa, but getting even $4m-$5m in a combination school approved NIL payments and endorsements for the year isn't out of the realm anymore.

You said it was guaranteed he was gone.

The race to get to the nfl is to get to your second contract after the rookie 3-4 year deal.

Hes not coming back to run behind the line we have returning next year. Why not ask a blue blood for a few million that has a stacked line returning, college football way of life now
